INGREDIENTS:

1 banana flower,

1 onion,

2 cloves of garlic,

2-3 hot peppers or a bell pepper,

50 milliliters of oil,

1 tablespoon of lemon juice,

1 liter of water,

1 tablespoon of salt,

1 tablespoon of vinegar,

Salt and pepper to taste.

Remove the purple leaves of the banana flower until you reach the white side.

Do not throw away the purple leaves of the banana flower, wash them well and use them instead of plates to impress your family and guests especially if they are westerners.

What seems like a common way in some countries to use some purple banana leaves or petals to wrap or serve food for people in other countries is an excellent presentation for serving certain types of food.

Between the purple leaves there are layers of white flowers from which we remove the pistils and wash them well under cold water.

After removing the purple leaves we will discover a white part of the banana flower, like a core of this flower.

The white part of the banana flower is cut in half lengthwise, and the two halves are cut in half again also lengthwise.

Boil 1 liter of water in a saucepan, add a spoonful of salt and a spoonful of vinegar.

When the water boils, add the banana flower cut into four parts.

Let the flower boil for a few minutes, in this way the latex and the bitter taste are removed.

Turn off the stove flame and remove the banana flower pieces by rinsing them in cold water.

Peel the onion and garlic, then cut them into small pieces.

Cut the banana flower core pieces into thin strips.

Pour the oil into a pan and let it heat up.

When the oil is hot, add the chopped onion.

Mix well on low heat.

When the onion turns yellow, add the pieces of garlic and hot pepper.

Continue to mix, and after a minute add the banana flower strips and the flowers that have been takeout the pistils and washed.

Add salt, pepper and lemon juice and stir continuously for one minute.

Then turn off the stove.

In the purple leaves that we use to serve, we place the banana flower food that we have prepared.
